Epinephrine Base & Bitartrate Supply Chain and the Corona crisis

Our CMO, Syn-Tech, is located in Taiwan.
 
Some people still have the wrong perception of Taiwan. We are regularly receiving comments from customers that indicate some degree of nervousness about the supply from Taiwan in general and, recently,  in light of the Corona situation. They put Taiwan and China under the same umbrella.

Independent from the controversy concerning the legal status of Taiwan, Taiwan is very different in many ways. From a quality culture and mentality perspective Taiwan is more orientated towards the South Korean or Japanese style.

Look at how the Taiwanese government dealt with the Corona virus threat; Taiwan has managed to successfully contain the spread of the disease. To date, Taiwan has not experienced any community outbreaks of the highly contagious virus. Apart from a cluster outbreak in north Taiwan, the disease’s spread has been limited to date.
 
A major part of Taiwan’s preventive effort has been its ability to successfully tamp down on travelers coming to the island and requiring quarantines for Taiwanese nationals with travel histories to mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. This countermeasure was already implemented in January when the Taiwanese Government very early acknowledged first infections in China. The Taiwanese alertness as well as preparedness has been a result of a positive learning curve since the previous SARS epidemic in 2002/3.
 
Taiwanese authorities continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in China and around the globe and will quickly adjust measures taken to date as the situation changes.
 
Considering the alternative sources of Epinephrine, we are very happy that our CMO is located in Taiwan.
