Since the beginning of the pandemic Transo-Pharm quickly implemented a workplace concept with a mix of office- and home-based working. The workforce was split up into two groups (team A & team B) and the group composition was not change during the whole pandemic until today. The teams took turns in working in the office and working from home on a weekly basis. In one week, team A was at the office and team B was working from home and in the following week vice versa.
This concept is available for 90 % of the total employees (jobs not requiring physical attendance at the workplace). With this hybrid work concept Transo-Pharm is not only limiting the risk of spreading the virus, but is also addressing the growing need of employees for flexibility in order to balance work- and family-life during the lock-down periods. At the same time this hybrid concept allows the teams to personally interact with their colleagues in a “quasi-normal” environment every two weeks, which helps a lot mentally to get through this difficult time. This might be a future model for a lot of companies; even when the pandemic is finally under control.
